  • Generating, synthesizing, appraising, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating epidemiologic intelligence that measures the health status, risks, needs, and health outcomes of defined populations.

Postgraduate Diploma in Health Systems Management

Objectives of the Faculty of Public Health and Community Medicine in Health System Management are:

  • Strengthen accredited training institutions to ensure that trainees are exposed to the best academic and professional training.

Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational and Environmental Health

The programme is designed o produce manpower with the knowledge and skill to prevent and manage common occupational and environmental health and safety issues and provide a healthier workforce and environment.

Specific Objectives

  • To be able to identify and control common occupational and environmental health hazards
  • To be able to carry out environmental monitoring of dust, sound, temperature and radiation
  • To develop the knowledge and skill required to design and carry out research activities
  • To demonstrate leadership and team-player skills in addressing occupational and environmental health problems
  • To develop the knowledge and skill required to carry out environmental impact assessment
  • To conduct hazard identification, risk assessment and the promotion and implementation of appropriate interventions.

Postgraduate Diploma in Population and Reproductive Health

The program is expected to aid medical doctors working in the area of Population and Reproductive Health develop and acquire knowledge and skills to enable them:-

  • Explain the role of quantitative and qualitative methods and sciences in describing and assessing population health as relates to reproductive health.
  • Explain the social, political and economic determinants of health and how they contribute to population health and health inequalities as relates reproductive health.
  • Develop awareness concerning Population and Reproductive health matters of major causes and trends of morbidity and mortality as well as how to reduce them.
  • Improve on their capabilities to plan, implement and evaluate relevant programs and interventions related to Population and Reproductive Health.
  • Assess a variety of strategies that could be used to improve Population and Reproductive Health.
  • Appreciate and interpret basic principles related to Epidemiology, qualitative and quantitative research methods and its application in Population and Reproductive health

Fees payable for the Programme
1. Application processing Fee: ₦25,000
2. Associate Diplomates Registration: ₦30,000
3. Associate Diplomates Annual Subscription: ₦10,000
4. Course fee: ₦200,000
5. Examination Fee: ₦200,000
6. Convocation Fee: ₦350,000

Please note that:
Payment 1 (Application Processing Fee) must be made before the close of registration on May 31st, 2023.
Payment 2 – 4: After receiving notification of a successful application, Payments 2 – 4 (Associate Diplomates Registration fee, Associate Diplomates Annual Subscription fee, and Course (Tuition) fee) are expected to be paid once before admission into the programme; the deadline for these payments is 30th June 2023.
Payment 5 – The deadline for the payment of the examination fee will be on the last day stipulated for examination registration, 31st August 2024. Please note that the registration for exam will be between 1st July – 31st August 2024.
Payment 6 (convocation fee) is expected to be made once by all Diplomates that are successful at the end of programme exam.
