Meet the new Principal Officers of the College

The Governing Board of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), at its statutory meeting held in December 2025, has elected new Principal Officers to oversee the College’s affairs from **January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027.
Dr. Anthony Ikefuna, the immediate past College Vice-President was elected as the College President, Dr. Innocent Ikem, FMCOrtho, the Immediate Treasurer emerged as College Vice-President while Dr. Abdullahi Ibrahim, the Chairman of Faculty of Psychiatry was elected as College Treasurer.

MEET THE NEW PRINCIPAL OFFICERS

College President
Professor Anthony Nnaemeka Ikefuna,  MBBS(Ibadan); MD; FMCPaed; FRCP Edin; FAMedS; FNAMed, has served the College in several leadership capacities, most recently as Vice-President. He has been instrumental in strengthening the Faculty of Paediatrics and advancing the College’s academic programs. His election as President reflects his longstanding commitment to the College’s mission and governance. Read more

College Vice-President
Professor Innocent Chiedu IKEM, BM, BCh. Jos, MD, FMCOrtho. Nig, previously served as Treasurer of the College, where he oversaw financial stewardship and accountability. He has also contributed to the Faculty of Orthopaedics, supporting curriculum development and postgraduate training. His new role as Vice-President positions him to further enhance the College’s strategic direction. Read more

College Treasurer
Dr. Abdullahi Ibrahim, MBBS, Dip Psych (WACP), PGDM, FMCPsych, is the immediate past Chairman of the Faculty of Psychiatry, where he provided leadership in faculty governance and postgraduate examinations. His election as Treasurer underscores his dedication to the College’s administrative and financial responsibilities.Read more
